NUTRITION:

i thought i'd add some healthy snack ideas for
those who are busy, and for childrens lunches.

*plain yogurt (sweetened with honey), with fresh fruit, and granola
*granola bars
*soy nuts
*nuts and seeds (preferabley RAW, unsalted to get the most health benefits out of them!)
*soy milk shakes (mix soy milk, ice, and fresh fruit in a blender)
*cottage cheese (lots of protien!)
*NUT butters with apples, or celery or crackers
(nut butters such as cashew and almond are better for you than peanut butter. peanut butter contains a natural carcinogen that has been known to cause cancer.)
*crackers and cheese.
*veggies and dip
*pita bread and hummus.

any more ideas?? i'd love to hear 'em!


TIPS FOR SAVING THE EARTH:

1)CARPOOL, rollerblade, bike, walk as
much as possible.
transportation emmisions make up 20%
of the earths pollution.

2)start composting!!

3)TURN OFF THE WATER WHEN YOU ARE NOT
USING IT! i know this seems simple, but
the average person wastes over 1 thousand
gallons of water or more/PER YEAR!!

4)TURN OFF LIGHTS/COMPUTER when not in use!
this is vital. not only will it save the
environment, but it will cut
down on your electricty costs!;)

5)OPEN WINDOWS (instead of using A/C/heating
when you can!)


ALRIGHTY!! ITS SCHOOL TIME AGAIN!!;)

*here are some "back to school tips"
that will help the environment.

1)pack lunches in re-usable bag
OR, if you must, a PAPER BAG

2)use tupperware instead of plastic
bags to pack sandwiches in

3)encourage kids to use ALL paper
efficiently, and to use used paper
for scrap, notes..etc.
*and encourage them to use BOTH SIDES
of the paper

4)ride a bike, rollerblade, or walk to
school instead of driving!(if you can)

Did you know that a typical two stroke engine weed whacker or lawnmower is substantially worse for the environment than a automobile's motor? In fact, 20-30% of the fuel in a two-stroke engine is released unburned into the environment. Two-stroke engines release about 1.1 billion pounds of hydrocarbon into the atmosphere each year. Yuck!!<
